THURSDAY July 2nd at 7pm: Kolchak: THE NIGHT STALKER - Barrens

"Don't take MY word for it"
Chicago wire service reporter, Carl Kolchak, investigates mysterious crimes with unlikely causes, particularly those that law enforcement authorities won't follow up. These often involve the supernatural or science fiction, including fantastic creatures.

This one’s happened to us all.
You’re driving late at night on some long distance trip. Maybe you’re alone. Maybe the wife and kids are asleep in the other seats. You’ve driven a couple hours past where you should have turned into that motel. Your back’s sore and eyes are itching from sitting and staring–from watching the lines on the road roll under your hood.

What was that?

Something in your peripheral. Something on the shoulder of the road. There, just at the limit of your headlight beam. Just for a flash of a second. Something moving. Running. Matching speed with you for just a fraction of a fraction of a second. Were those eyes glowing in your brights? Was that a glimpse of spiky fur? And feet paddling like a blur and kicking up dust by your spinning tires? Did you see a flash of teeth? Then it’s gone.
