WEDNESDAY, April 30th at 7PM: FLORA & ULYSSES Begins!

Holy unanticipated occurrences! A cynic meets an unlikely superhero in a genre-breaking new novel by master storyteller Kate DiCamillo. Winner of the 2014 Newbery Medal

It begins, as the best superhero stories do, with a tragic accident that has unexpected consequences. The squirrel never saw the vacuum cleaner coming, but self-described cynic Flora Belle Buckman, who has read every issue of the comic book Terrible Things Can Happen to You!, is the just the right person to step in and save him. What neither can predict is that Ulysses (the squirrel) has been born anew, with powers of strength, flight, and misspelled poetry — and that Flora will be changed too, as she discovers the possibility of hope and the promise of a capacious heart.

The adventure begins with Caledonia tonight, live in voice.

TUESDAY, April 29th at 7PM: More form THE RAVEN AND THE STORYTELLER ~ The Path

When we think of honor and integrity, we don't usually apply it to wandering Storytellers.  But that is just what we discovered in Moon last week: a heart and a soul enriched by his stories.

Aoife Niphredil continues the epic journey to share: full of lore, mysticism, and a bit of adventure!  An enchanting tale of the travels of a Raven and Moon the Storyteller, both of whom are immortal, and of the people and events they meet on their journey. Stories told are set within the book as their journey unfolds. In the tradition of fables and stories within a story. Set in an early but timeless British landscape.

STORIES PRESENTED LIVE IN VOICE

SUNDAY, April 27th at 1:30pm: TEA TIME at Baker Street!

Kayden, Corwyn, and Cale start a four part series of the second novel of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's featuring the great Holmesian adventures, published in 1890: THE SIGN OF FOUR. Written right after "A Study In Scarlet," which introduced Holmes, the author went on to publish 56 short stories and 4 novels of Holmesian adventures.

The story is set in 1888. The Sign of the Four has a complex plot involving service in East India Company, India, the Indian Rebellion of 1857, a stolen treasure, and a secret pact among four convicts ("the Four" of the title) and two corrupt prison guards. It presents the detective's drug habit and humanizes him in a way that had not been done in the preceding novel A Study in Scarlet (1887). It also introduces Doctor Watson's future wife, Mary Morstan.

Presented live in voice.

WEDNESDAY, April 9th at 7PM: More from TIR NA N'OG

Caledonia continues Marni L. B. Troop's  first journal of her TIR NA N'OG Saga.

As the queens return to Ailech, accompanied by Amergin of the Iberians, what thoughts and plots will come from the three-in-one? A story inspired by the mythological ancient Irish lore of the Book of Invasions.

From timelessmyths.com . . .

"The people of Ireland in medieval times had never believed that the Gaelic speaking people were native of their land. They had believed that the Ireland was invaded and settled by successive Celtic tribes over different periods. Their history is based largely upon the pseudo-historical Lebor Gabala, translated into English as the "Book of Invasions", and Cath Maige Tuired, or the "Second Battle of Maige Tuired".

"The Book of Invasions form the major part of the Mythological Cycle. The Book of Invasions was supposed to contain the (fictional) history of Ireland. The cycle was written in the book titled Leabhar Gabhála or Lebor Gabala Erren - the "Book of Conquests" or the "Book of Invasions of Ireland". It was the stories of successive invasions and settlement of the Celtic people on Ireland. Five or six different people settled on the Isle."
