Summer vacation trips are supposed to be chocked full or memory-making experiences: Snack food in the back seat, sandwiches with just that "car-broiled" taste, and games to while away the time when the scenery loses it seductive appeal.
That is certainly the kind of trip the Sonderberg family had in mind when they headed for Interstate 40 - a memorable trip. And they got it! THIS ONE is one for the scrapbooks complete with alternate dimensions, world threatening imperatives, and an unassuming hitchhiker who just happens to have the fate of the universe resting on her shoulders.
