The Winter Solstice is a time of renewal, when the world is dark but light returns. This year's Solstice arrives on the heels of a powerful Full Moon and complete lunar eclipse, and marks the ending of a tumultuous year. "Little Gidding," the last of T.S. Eliot's Four Quartets, was begun during the Battle of Britain and published in 1942, another intense time in history.
Tonight, Aoife reads Little Gidding as an offering to the season, and a reflection on the turning of the year.
