Welcome to Open Mic Weekend at the Library. If you are a Poet, or an Author of short stories, and would like to share your work, come to one of two open mic sessions at the Library:
  • FRIDAY NIGHT SPECIAL: Friday, Nov 21 at 5pm Hosted by Aoife Lorefield
  • SUNDAY MORNING STORIES: Sunday, Nov 23 at 11am Hosted by Aoife Lorefield and Caledonia Skytower
You can read your work yourself in Voice (please limit to 15 minutes or less) or pass your work to one of the hosts in a notecard for them to read for you, either before or during the session. Tis a great opportunity to listen to your work read aloud as you continue to refine it!

Join Derry McMahon and Elder Priestman for Arthurian legends. Stories of Merlin and Viviane, the "Lady of Shallot" and Arthur and the sword in the stone will be some of the ones included. These stories will be done in voice.

Aoife Lorefield will host an open mic for West of Ireland Poets and Storytellers on November 21. So come on down and bring your best poems and stories. Aoife will be on voice, so if you write but don't want to read, bring your choice literary works on a note card.

Join us for stories of the military, veterans, and those who support them. Hear about Patton's Prayer, words of wisdom from Winston Churchill, the tale of an Australian entertainer on tour in Viet Nam, the accomplishments of Clara Barton (Civil War) and Florence Nightingale (Crimean War). And, if we are VERY lucky, a reading of 'The Charge of the Light Brigade'.
