Caledonia continues through The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes - the collection of twelve stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, featuring his famous detective.
This week: A Case of Identity - Set in 1887, the story revolves around the case of Miss Mary Sutherland, a woman with a substantial income from the interest on a fund set up for her. She is engaged to a quiet Londoner who has recently disappeared. Though Dr. Watson seems puzzled by these events, Holmes classically assures him that it it is quite "elementary."

Join Derry for some fun chick lit with girls on vacation. Francesca Serritella talks about packing, while her mom Lisa Scottoline debates the age-old air conditioning issue, not to mention the issue of what lives outside their back door! Plus, we'll have stories from Mexico and other fun parts of the world. Grab a margarita and relax!
MONDAY, July 23rd @ 7pm: Part 3 ~ THE CORPSE WORE TARTAN
"He's Dead!...There's a dead guy in the Number Two Storage Room!" Great! Just great! It's not enough that someone stole a brooch from the surly MacMillan's. It's not enough that it is snowing and storming outside, trees are down and The Spruces Hotel in Moosetookalook, Maine is running in generator power, blazing fireplaces, and a whole lot of free hospitality.
Now there's a dead guy too. The plot and the snow continue to thicken!

SUNDAY, July 22 at 2pm: TEA TIME AT BAKER STREET
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes is a collection of twelve stories by Arthur Conan Doyle, featuring his famous detective. These are the first of the Sherlock Holmes short stories, originally published as single stories in the Strand Magazine from July 1891 to June 1892. The book was published in England on 14 October 1892 by George Newnes Ltd and in a US Edition on 15 October by Harper. The initial combined print run was 14,500 copies.
Caledonia begins our tea time on Baker Street with The Adventure of the Red-Headed League: Jabez Williams takes a night job as a clerk, hired because fo the color fo his hair. It leads to the mysterious office of the Red-Headed League, which suddenly closes overnight. Holmes and Watson are on the case, determined to solve it over a mere weekend, suspecting rightly that it leads to something greater than what it seems.

Each skirts the edges of a puncture in reality through which something dark and mysterious peeks. Then it moves on and the apparition is hidden away again, but not forgotten.

Andrew seems to be just another NDR domestic robot created by U.S. Robots and Mechanical Men. Purchased by the Martin family and given his name, he serves them faithfully for generations; but Andrew isn't like his countless brothers...
Isaac Asimov's Bicentennial Man was written in 1976 as part of a project to celebrate the U.S. bicentennial. The project never materialized, but Asimov’s novella went winning the prestigious Hugo award the same year, and later served as the basis for a 1993 novel, The Positronic Man (written with Robert Silverberg) and a 1999 movie, The Bicentennial Man, starring Robin Williams.

Liss and her friends continue to diligently weather the coming storm, while the air of intrigue gathering around them is as thick as the scent of haggis gone bad -- and that's pretty dang think! Join Caledonia for more mysteries in plaid as the snowfall thickens, and so does the plot, at The Spruces in Moosetookalook, Maine.
