at SEANCHAI LIBRARY in SECOND LIFE
Seanchai ("Storyteller" in Irish) Library celebrates the Celtic tradition of stories told around the hearth or in the pub to friends, family, and welcomed strangers. Seanchai Libraries bring stories of all kinds to life, in Second Life.
Our Teatime Holiday series concludes today, and we are joining our friends at Virtual Community Radio in celebrating their 1st Anniversary of broadcasting. NOTE: This session begins at 1pm, not the usual half-hour start. So come early and grab your seat.
We'll be presenting an hour of comedy and hi-jinks starting with the very first episode of the Buck Rogers Radio Series (1939) and continuing with The Burns and Allen New Years Show (1947).
David Abbot, Corwyn Allen, Gloriana Maertens, Elrik Merlin, Kayden Oconnell and Caledonia Skytower, live on stream.

There are those who believe and those who don’t. Through the ages, superstition has had its uses; nowhere more so than in the Discworld where it’s helped to maintain the status quo. Anything that undermines superstition has to be viewed with some caution.
There may be consequences, particularly on the last night of the year when the time is turning. When those consequences turn out to be the end of the world, you need to be prepared. You might even want more standing between you and oblivion than a mere slip of a girl – even if she has looked Death in the face on numerous occasions.

An angel is sent from Heaven to help a desperately
frustrated businessman by showing him what life would have been like if he had
never existed. It's the story of George Bailey, a man who has given up his
personal dreams in order to help others in his community, and whose thoughts of
suicide on Christmas Eve brings about the intervention of his guardian angel,
Clarence Odbody. Clarence shows George how he has touched the lives of others
and how different life would be for his wife Mary and his community of
The radio drama is based on the 1946 film, considered one of the greatest films of all time. It was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and has been recognized by the American Film Institute as one of the 100 best American films ever made.

"While to the cheerful hearth and social board
Content and ease repair, the sons of want
Receive from niggard fate their pittance scant;
And where some shed bleak covert may afford,
Wan poverty, amidst her meagre host
Casts round her haggard eyes, and shivers at the frost."
~ from "Winter" by Anne Hunter
Ktadhn Vesuvino and Caledonia Skytower team up once more to share and hour of words and music of the season: some secular, some sacred. Join us at the Seanchai Winter Holiday Skating Pond to share this time in skating, dancing, or just listening.
Presented live on stream and in SL Voice.
