“Do you?” countered M. Bouc.

Poirot nodded.

“Oh, yes,” he said. “I have known for some time. It is so clear that I wonder you have not seen it also.” He looked at Hardman and asked, “And you?”

The detective shook his head. He stared at Poirot curiously.

“I don’t know,” he said. “I don’t know at all. Which of them was it?”

Poirot was silent a minute. Then he said:

“If you will be so good, M. Hardman, assemble everyone here. There are two possible solutions of this case. I want to lay them both before you all.”

Still snowbound, things are not as civil as they might seem.  Aided by Mssr Bouc, director of the Compagnie Wagon Lits, and Dr. Constantine, Hercule Poirot and his little gray cells are trying to puzzle out a murder where everyone is suspect, except no one is.

SUNDAY, July 22nd at NOON*: TEA TIME on The Orient Express continues

It has been a tough night for The Orient Express in the Fruška Gora mountains between Vincovci and Brod. First, the train has become stranded in snow. The second is the discovery that Ratchett’s fears about his safety were correct: his has been murdered in his cabin. But who is responsible?

With nowhere to go until assistance for the stricken locomotive arrives, Poirot sets out to discover – did someone board the train in secret to put an end to Ratchett, or was one of his fellow passengers in fact the murderer? And what of Ratchett himself? Was he really all he seemed?

Poirot examines clues, collects evidence, and interviews passengers as Episode 3 of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express continues.

   @ 2pm: War of the Worlds at Holly Kai Park's Art Hill.
    The Martians have landed!  But no one believes the incredible, unbelievable truth - that there's life out there beyond our atmosphere, and that it might not be so very friendly.  Join Bear Silvershade, Caledonia Skytower, Derry McMahon, Aoife Lorefield, Zander Greene, Kayden Oconnell, and Shandon Loring for this Sci-Fi treat, first read by Seanchai Library in 2009.

Sunday, March 25th 
    @1pm: The Storyteller's Sandbox hosted by Dubhna Rhiadra, at Ceiliúradh Glen.
Seanchai Library has always been about more than just what happens on our home parcel.  Over our ten year history we have continually made connections, provided opportunities and resources to the greater spoken word community.  We've invited some of our friends from across the grid to join us for one final Volume 10 gathering around the fire, to share stories and poems.

Take a stroll through A Decade of Seanchai Library, a retrospective wander from our beginnings in the West of Ireland, through our years with the Community Virtual Library, our expansion to the Kitely Grid, to the present time.  Images, artifacts, media links all come together to share the story of telling stories.  This exhibit will remain open through the end of the month, so there's still time to walk through the caverns and tunnels of a decade.

AND the Volume 10 Quest will also stay up through the end of March.  There's still goodies to find and surprises to be found by exploring the clues of this light-hearted, fun adventure.  Find instructions at the Seanchai Library main landing point and let your quest begin.

THIS WEEK: The Adventure of the Blanched Soldier

In January 1903, at Baker Street, James M. Dodd sees Holmes about a missing friend, Godfrey Emsworth. Dodd and Emsworth served together in the Imperial Yeomanry in South Africa during the Second Boer War, which has only just ended. Emsworth was wounded during this war. Dodd has not seen him since the report of his injury, and "not a word for six months and more". Since Emsworth has always been such a good friend, Dodd believes something is amiss.

SUNDAY, October 30th beginning at 1pm: THE GREAT BOO! at Holly Kai Park

Join us as we open Holly Kai Park's Storyteller's Circle with three hours of spooky, scary, thrilling tales of ghosts and demons, hauntings and horrors, all live in voice and presented by Seanchai Library!

The circle has been specially dressed for the occasion - the campfire is lit, the torches blaze brightly to ward off the spirits. But the mist roils and rolls, the wolves howl and owls hoot, and great cobwebs fill the gaps between the trees as the spirits walk abroad! Just set your viewer to midnight (or let Firestorm set the atmosphere for you!), and step into the circle!

SUNDAY Delights with Seanchai Library

Two outstanding sessions today:

@ 1:30 pm, TEA TIME with the JUNGLE BOOK

We welcome Bryn Taleweaver to Seanchai Library for this delightful new series, based on selections from Kipling's classic, presented live in voice.

The tales in the Rudyard Kipling's "The Jungle Book" are fables, using animals in an anthropomorphic manner to give moral lessons. The verses of The Law of the Jungle, for example, lay down rules for the safety of individuals, families, and communities. Kipling put in them nearly everything he knew or "heard or dreamed about the Indian jungle.

The best-known of them are the three stories revolving around the adventures of Mowgli, an abandoned "man cub" who is raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. The most famous of the other four stories are probably "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi", the story of a heroic mongoose, and "Toomai of the Elephants", the tale of a young elephant-handler. As with much of Kipling's work, each of the stories is followed by a piece of verse.

"The Return of Sherlock Holmes" continues as Seanchai Library presents all 13 adventures in the collection in the LEA 9 221b Lounge, concluding at May's ending.

THIS WEEK: "The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton"
Holmes is hired by the débutante Lady Eva Blackwell to retrieve compromising letters from a blackmailer: Milverton, who causes Holmes more revulsion than any of the 50-odd murderers in his career. Milverton is "the king of blackmailers" and he makes his living out of blackmail.

Kayden and Caledonia share stories and poetry written for the exhibition at Holly Kai Park's Art in the Park outdoor gallery which currently features the work of visiting artists Io Bechir, Goodcross, Hana Hoo, Mistero Hifeng and Sisse Singh.

Join us in the stone gazebo (just up the hill from the landing point) surrounded by virtual nature and art. Consider coming a few minutes early, or plan to linger after and explore the sculpture, painting, and photographic art of the featured artists.
