You can even help!  The audience will be encouraged to help Cale select what "pot" of tales to pull from. Gather at the Firecircle, just behind the library, for an hour of adventure and magic.

THE most lonesome bridle-path in all Ireland leads from Tom Healy's cottage down the sides of the hills, along the edge of the valley, till it raiches the highroad that skirts the great mountain, Sleive-na-mon. One blusthering, unaisy night, Father Cassidy, on his way home from a sick call, rode over that same path. It wasn't strange that the priest, as his horse ambled along, should be thinking of that other night in Darby O'Gill's kitchen - the night when he met with the Good People; for there, off to the left, towered and threatened Sleive-na-mon, the home of the fairies.

HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY!

It is a good day to be Irish, but that means more than green beer and silly hats!

The Irish are known for (among other things) their tales of wonder. Join Aoife tonight for some of the ancient tales: The Voyage of Mael Duinn, Dan Dheirg, and the Wooing of Finabair, with perhaps a bit more besides, who can say? Find a seat by the fire, take a sip of fine whiskey, and listen to the magic.

MONDAY, March 17th at 7:00pm: THE QUIET MAN

Yes friends, It is time for that story again:  Maurice Walsh's The Quiet Man.  It's one of Caledonia's favorite stories (written by Walsh in 1933), and one of her favorite movies ( in 1951, winning two Academy Awards).

 Sean is a quiet, peace-loving man...not above stoppin' for a moment in the fields and just watching the wind blow through the grass, and see the swell of the distant sea.  But there was no mistaking!  Sean was not lazy, just quiet.  But when he falls in head over heels for lovely, red-haired Ellen, sister to a bullying local landowner, Sean's peace is about to be sorely tested.  And everyone is about to find out just how quiet, and patient a "quiet man" can be.  (Reading this year from Walsh's less "American" version).
