"Nethan's Magic" by Jodie
Lynn Nye (2006) yes it is Nethan, not Nathan.
After unsuccessfully trying to
magical make a child, a witch finds a real baby has been left on her
doorstep. Ugly and without a shred of
magic, Nethan still has a magical effect on the witch and the village she lives
in.

"Touching Faith" by
Alexander B. Potter (2006)
A slightly tongue-in-cheek look at
a boy who learns as he grows up that he has the power to heal with a touch.
