Imbolc is one of the four fire festivals of ancient times, a cross-quarter day, and the turning of the Celtic calendar from the dark months back toward the light.
In Ireland, this is the time of lambing, snowdrops, and the first signs of spring. The Cailleach, the Winter Hag, makes way for the beautiful maiden Bride, the Goddess and Saint Brigid who was so close to the hearts of Celtic people.
