TEA TIME: Sherlock Holmes' Greatest Hits!

The votes are in, and today we present the first of the top four Sherlock Holmes' Adventures from our recent poll: THE ADVENTURE OF THE DYING DETECTIVE from "His Last Bow" (1917).

Dr. Watson is called to tend Holmes, who is apparently dying of a rare tropical disease, Tapanuli fever, contracted while he was on a case. Watson is shocked, not having heard about his friend’s illness. Mrs. Hudson says that Holmes has neither eaten nor drunk anything in three days. Although Watson wishes to examine Holmes himself or send for a specialist, Holmes demands that Watson wait several hours before seeking help. So, Watson is forced to wait, in extreme worry as Holmes mutters nonsense.

Da5id Abbot, Corwyn Allen, Savanah Blindside, Kayden Oconnell, live on stream in the Library's Fireside Room.

Dr Watson is called to tend Holmes, who is apparently dying of a rare disease contracted while he was on a case. Watson was shocked, having heard about his friend’s illness. Mrs. Hudson says that Holmes has neither eaten nor drunk anything in three days.
Holmes instructs Watson not to come near him, because the illness is highly infectious. Although Watson wishes to examine Holmes himself or send for a specialist, Holmes demands that Watson wait several hours before seeking help. So, Watson is forced to wait, in extreme worry as Holmes mutters nonsense. What can Watson do to help his good friend, and how did Sherlock Holmes come to this tragic lass?

Mrs. Hudson is serving chicken soup and tea, with some healthful fruit on the side to help Holmes in his swift recovery.

Presented live in voice, with Corwyn Allen, John Morland, Kayden Oconnell, and Caledonia Skytower

PLUS A bonus story "Mrs. Hudson's Case" by Laurie B. King

SUNDAY, March 9th at 1:30pm: TEA TIME at Baker Street

Corwyn, Kayden, and Cale continue with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's for Holmesian short story collection titled "HIS LAST BOW: Some Reminiscences of Sherlock Holmes."  TODAY: "The Adventure of the Dying Detective."

Dr. Watson is called to 221B Baker Street to tend Holmes, who is apparently dying of a rare Asian disease contracted while he was on a case at Rotherhithe. Watson is shocked, having heard nothing about his friend’s illness. Mrs. Hudson says that he has neither eaten nor drunk anything in three days.
Upon arriving, Watson finds Holmes in his bed looking very ill and gaunt indeed, and Holmes proceeds to make several odd demands of Watson. He is not to come near Holmes, for the illness is highly contagious. He will seek no help save from the man whom Holmes names. He will wait until six o’clock before Holmes names him. When Watson objects and tries to leave for help, Holmes musters enough strength to leap out of bed, and lock the door, taking the key. So, Watson is forced to wait. Holmes seems delirious at times.  Will the Great Detective survive? or will this most recent adventure prove too lethal even for him?

Presented live in voice, downstairs in the Seanchai Fireside Room.
