It looked like a good thing: but wait till I tell you. We were down South, in Alabama--Bill Driscoll and myself-when this kidnapping idea struck us. It was, as Bill afterward expressed it, 'during a moment of temporary mental apparition'; but we didn't find that out till later.

WEDNESDAY, August 10th at 7PM: More WOMEN GOING WILD IN THE OL:D WEST

Trolley returns with more tales of women, both real and fictional, in the Old American West.

This session she will be including some works by O.Henry (William Sydney Porter) was an American short story writer. O. Henry's short stories are known for their wit, wordplay, warm characterization, and surprise endings.

O. Henry's stories frequently have surprise endings. In his day, he was called the American answer to Guy de Maupassant. While both authors wrote plot twist endings, O. Henry stories were considerably more playful, and are also known for witty narration.

Most of O. Henry's stories are set in his own time, the early 20th century. Many take place in New York City and for the most part feature ordinary people: clerks, policemen, waitresses, etc.
