TUESDAY, August 15th at 7pm: ONE SUMMER ~ America 1927 Begins

In One Summer: America, 1927, Bill Bryson transports us on a journey to one amazing season in American life.

The summer began with one of the signature events of the twentieth century: on May 21, 1927, Charles Lindbergh became the first man to cross the Atlantic by plane nonstop.    Bryson goes on to describe the summer of Babe Ruth, flagpole sitter "Shipwreck" Kelly, Herbert Hoover, Calvin Coolidge, and Al Capone.  The stories are all told with an eye for telling detail and delicious humor.

Kayden Oconnell presents, Live in voice.
