Time to meet Miggery Sow.  She doesn't want a lot out of life, no one seems to allow her to.  Nothing that a good clout on the ears won't fix, anyway.  But Mig does have a dream - to be a princess.  That's about as far from where Mig is as you can get, especially when your only seeming friend is a rat with an agenda of revenge.

We continue the tale these of three characters (Despereaux Tilling - Mouse, Chiaroscuro - Rat, Miggery Sow - Serving Girl) about to embark on a journey that will lead them down into a horrible dungeon, up into a glittering castle, and, ultimately, into each other's lives.
