He can equally tickle your funny bone and frighten the "bejeezus" out of you.  There are certainly many contemporary authors in this genre from Steven King to Anne Rice with a bit of Clive Barker in between.  But we have a special place in our hearts at Seanchai Library for the tousle-haired Mr. Gaiman. So that's what we are sharing tonight - Caledonia is joined by Kayden Oconnell.

WEDNESDAY, October 16th at 7pm: THE MYSTERIOUS WOODS OF WHISTLE ROOT Continues

Who knew there was such a thing as a "whistleroot"?  But there is, in author Christopher Pennell's world where rats and owls play music and dance together.  Or, at least, they did.

Last week we met 11-year-old Carly Bean Bitters, who suffers a peculiar malady: she can only sleep by the light of day, and is awake through the night, spending her time up in the attic of her aunt’s house, awaiting the arrival of the dawn.

Kidnapped by an owl, Carly find herself dropped into the woods where she meets the once happy community of rats, now gravely threatened by the hostile owls. At school, and struggling to stay awake, she also finds a strange note warning that the “Moon Child” is in danger.

** Frankenstein is back! Last year Seanchai Library partnered with Fantasy Faire Radio for a live broadcast of a radio drama adaptation of the Mary Shelley classic. Did we record it and produce it? You BET we did! We will be airing this 2-hour presentation twice, and you won't want to miss it.  The cast features Zander Greene, Elrik Merlin, David Abbot, Corwyn Allen, Caledonia Skytower, with Shandon Loring as Frankenstein's Creation.
