Well, our Charlotte is stranded with little choice but to remain in The Seahawk with the crew and Captain Jaggerty. But surely she is safe with such a fine man as Andrew Jaggerty in command. Hmmmm. But what about all that Zachariah has told her.
Charlotte is young and easily influenced, but even she realizes that all is not what it seems on board the ship. Find out what happens in the next installment of The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, an award-winning book by Avi that charts the course of a young girl finding herself, and being true to the self that she finds.

MONDAY, February 21st at 7:00pm: Part I - The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle
"Not every thirteen-year-old girl is accused of murder, brought to trial, and found guilty. But I was just such a girl, and my story is worth relating even if it did happen years ago." So begins author Avi's 1990 Newbery Honor book about a young girl surviving on the high seas in what should have been a simple crossing of the Atlantic.
It must be almost Spring, because Cale is taking to the high seas again beginning this award-winning book about a girl taking control of her life when it seems all control is lost. Set against a swashbuckling background of suspicious and salty characters and intrigue, it is easy to forget that the heroine of this book is merely thirteen.

MONDAY, February 7 at 7pm: The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane
Part One of Two . . .
Once, in a house on Egypt Street, there lived a china rabbit named Edward Tulane. The rabbit was very pleased with himself, and for good reason: he was owned by a girl named Abilene, who treated him with the utmost care and adored him completely. And then, one day, he was lost.
Kate DiCamillo takes us on an extraordinary journey, from the depths of the ocean to the net of a fisherman, from the top of a garbage heap to the fireside of a hobos camp, from the bedside of an ailing child to the bustling streets of Memphis. And along the way, we are shown a true miracle: even a heart of the most breakable kind can learn to love, to lose, and to love again.
From Caledonia: It is a story about the truest love from one of my favorite contemporary authors. If you have ever questioned whether love is worth it, you need to hear this story. Edward takes the journey of the heart that we all take -- those of us for whom the road to love is not easy. Bring tissues. Bring someone you care about.
