    WEDNESDAY, February 25th at 7PM: THE ISLANDMAN

    Tomas O'Crohan was born on the Great Blasket Island in 1865 and died there in 1937, a great master of his native Irish. He shared to the full the perilous life of a primitive community, yet possessed a shrewd and humorous detachment that enabled him to observe and describe the world. His book is a valuable description of a now vanished way of life; his sole purpose in writing it was in his own words, 'to set down the character of the people about me so that some record of us might live after us, for the like of us will never be again'.

    Caledonia shares selections, live in voice.

    Monday, February 23, 2015

    TUESDAY, February 24th at 7PM: THE CAILLEACH IS BACK!

    In Gaelic mythology  the Cailleach  is a divine hag, a creator deity and weather deity, and possibly an ancestor deity. She is also commonly known as the Cailleach Bhéara(ch) or Bheur(ach). The word cailleach means "hag" in modern Scottish Gaelic, and has been applied to numerous mythological figures in IrelandScotland and the Isle of Man.

    Join the Cailleach for a late winter's telling of one of the great myths of Celtic lands, of the hag, the maiden, and how healing comes to the land through the choice of a young knight. The young Arthur confronts the Black Knight, and the question to be answered is: What do women most desire?

    Presented live, in voice, by Aoife.

    MONDAY, February 23rd: Another Fantasy & Sci-Fi Start to Another Great Week!

    @6AM ~ Cata Charisma continues with more adventures from John Stephens' THE EMERALD ATLAS.

    The Emerald Atlas is the first novel of the children's fantasy trilogy The Books of Beginning by John Stephens. The second book is selling now and is called The Fire Chronicle. The book follows orphan siblings Kate, Michael, and Emma who, following a succession of unsuccessful orphanage dwellings, are transferred to the mansion of Dr. Pym, where they find a magical book that grants the power of moving through time. Upon traveling to the past, they happen across a witch who has enslaved the nearby town in an attempt to find the book, known as the Atlas, that the children possess. As the siblings encounter various magical races in an effort to dispel the witch, Kate discovers that she is intrinsically bound to the Atlas, and that the three children are subject to an ancient prophecy.

    @7PM ~ Gyro begins a new Sci-Fi Adventure: STARSWARM

    Kip has a secret. A young boy who lives with his uncle at Starswarm Station research outpost on planet Paradise, he has heard a voice in his head for as long as he can remember. The voice guides him in all his decisions, helping him through situations with useful information and helpful insight.

    One day, finally daring to ask the voice some tough questions, Kip discovers that his computer scientist parents implanted an artificial intelligence chip in his skull, which connects with a powerful mainframe computer via satellite. He also learns that his parents died under suspicious circumstances. And that his very existence is a well-kept secret that will soon come to light, putting his own life and the whole of outpost Starswarm in grave danger.

    Luckily, he has friends Marty and Lara to help. But are three kids enough to save an entire planet?

    SUNDAY, February 8th at 1:30pm: TEA TIME at Baker Street

    This week, it is just Corwyn and Cale with another tale from the third story in the Holmesian canon of 56 short story adventures: A Case of Identity!

    The story revolves around the case of Miss Mary Sutherland, a woman with a substantial income from the interest on a fund set up for her. She is engaged to a quiet Londoner who has recently disappeared. It turns out to be quite an elementary case for Sherlock Holmes, much as it puzzles Watson.

    The fiancé, Mr. Hosmer Angel, is a peculiar character, rather quiet, and rather secretive about his life. Miss Sutherland only knows that he works in an office in Leadenhall Street, but nothing more specific than that. All his letters to her are typewritten, even the signature, and he insists that she write back to him through the local Post Office.

    The climax of the sad liaison comes when Mr. Angel abandons Miss Sutherland at the altar on their wedding day. How will Sherlock Holmes solve this most "elementary" of cases?  Join us and find out!
